The Vale of Glamorgan council, already the landowners, bought the camp for £2.25 million in October 1997 and demolished
most of the resort including every chalet and the Princes entertainment building in Spring 1998. This land is now a new housing
estate. The Regency and Gaiety buildings are still standing, in a poor state, but for how much longer is unknown. When Bovis
bought the land for homes, the council signed a contract saying they would demolish the remaining buildings. There have
been plans for a UWIC (University of Wales in Cardiff) university campus for students studying Leisure and Tourism. However,
whatever goes on the site will probably have to be only one story high due to the councils contract with Bovis homes.
