The 800 challets were 'basic with no frills', they had very little in the way of fixtures and fittings. The chalets were
designed to 1960's modern standards to look cosmetically attractive, which can be hard for three-story chalet lines. The designers
thought the way to do this was with extensive use of wooden panelling and flat roofs. While this may have looked attractive
for the first few years, sea winds and heavy storms soon took their toll. The 800 wooden-clad chalets were slowly rotting
away. Eventually, the accomodation became so bad, a clause was put in the booking, so you could only sue for 20% of the holiday
(the accomodation cost).
