After the council had bought the resort buildings, the indoor and outdoor pools reopened briefly, named the 'Blue Lagoon
Pools' as a council run facility in 1999. The outdoor pools were fitted with new pumps. These never worked properly and were
a major factor in closing the pools. Also, poor visitor numbers meant that once again the gates were to shut, but this time
for good.
